Monday, Onward Toward Valdez

We stopped at the parking lot of a church where we know the Pastor and camped there. They generously allow us to sleep in their parking lot and use the facilities inside their church. After breakfast and visiting with our friends we were off for the last leg of our journey.

Worthington Glacier through the windshield. Yes, the windshield is cracked. Almost every Alaskan windshield is cracked, this one looks like a road map.

A beautiful day for fishing

This man spends all of his time putting on lures, untangling, unsnagging and still takes us fishing.

Here he was casting Judith’s pole after working on her pole and he caught the first fish of the trip. So, he still gets to fish.

A beautiful day in Valdez creates what they call afternoon chop. Well, we finally got all of our ducks in a row and out to fish during afternoon chop. My husband and I were questioning ourselves for taking the crew out in a small boat but once were were at the fishing spot things were calm and sunny. Only one fish was caught that first trip out.

  1. Looks like fun, and those pictures are beautiful. I love seeing how the Lord created such beauty in different areas of the world. Though the snow is a bit early for me to see (I'm sure it probably never leaves), it is so very pretty. :)

  4. What a nice family vacation. I've been wanting to visit Valdez. Perhaps we can make it next summer! This encourages me. How big is your RV and boat? We have 4 kids also, and so we'd have to have a pretty big RV to use if we go that way. When are you going to make it to the Kenai peninsula? :D
