Will

Food for thought about the will of a child. I will definitely be doing some research and seeing what else I can find on this subject.

Baseball

My crew loves baseball, well, two of them do. About three years ago the crew asked to spend an afternoon at the field with friends. I finally made that happen today.

Mommas, make things happen. Take the short amount of time to do some of the inconvenient things that speak love to your children. I spent about three hours between planning, packing lunches and sitting at the field.

We woke up to smokey air but thankfully by noon the wind blew the smoke out. I ended up spending the majority of my time sitting in the van keeping warm due to the wind.
I checked in with social media sites, made the menu for the next two weeks and wrote out the grocery list, read the Bible, made some notes and knitted and it was quiet. We all got some time doing something we enjoy.

Memorial Day

Four of the six of us making rows at one end of the garden while I was at this end planting seeds.

Writing down what was planted where in my Bullet Journal.

Planters

We spend the entire day working outside. Judith went after she helped a while in the garden and she made a red velvet cake with a blue frosting between the layers and white on the outside.

We had a dinner of moose burgers and baked fries.

The family ended the day with a canoe row around a nearby pond while I stayed home and showered, folded laundry from the line, and watched television in complete quiet. Well, the dog probably snored.

Benjamin is finally getting used to his glasses.
My wonderful Blessings.

Graduation Party, Cornhole, Nine Square

Corn hole.
Until a few years ago I had never heard of this game. When we used Trailguide To Learning Paths of Progress one of the projects was to make a cardboard corn hole game. I asked my husband to make wooden boards instead. He and the crew built them late last summer and the girls painted them Friday so we could take them to the graduation party on Saturday. Levi measured and taped the lines for them. I think they did a fabulous job on these. We made the bags out of denim and Carharrt.

There was also nine square at the party. Daddy and a few other "older" people played as well as the younger set.

Benjamin enjoyed feeding the chickens.

I played corn hole. Crazy mad skills here. Hahaha!

Benjamin playing with a little advantage.

Randomness from a Wednesday

Judith received her swim-a-thon prizes. I love the saying on the water bottle, Too fast to freeze. That's a good one .

Our baseball game was the second game, supposed to begin at 8:30 but ended up twenty minutes late waiting for Blue (Umpire).
I felt bad for those public school players because they are still in school. It's 8:20am Thursday morning as I type this and all are still asleep, even Benjamin. I would be asleep but the dog woke me up to go out. She was kind and slept in one hour longer than normal.

The sun at 10:06 pm, we are in that lovely period of no darkness. Now, if the wind would blow the cool weather out. I had on two light weight jackets and Judith was wearing a jacket and covered with a fleece blanket.

Benjamin crashed on the way home.

Today we are off to the End of Year cookout with our home school program and hopefully next week will not have as many day time items on the calendar. I am looking forward to at home summer days.

Sometimes

Sometimes when you are five and your Mom climbs onto the trampoline while you are jumping your reply is, "what a woman."

And later when your Mom stands up and barely jumps with you you might say, "Is this the best day ever?"

Sometimes on a Sunday afternoon Mom needs to spend some time with her affirming words and quality time loving son just hanging out on the trampoline. It fills a love tank and it also fills a Momma's heart to overflowing. Even if static electricity has your hair standing on end.

It doesn't have to be a trampoline just spend some time loving your Blessings in a way that may take you out of your comfort zone or take you off of your busy schedule. Believe me, take the time, it's worth it. Everything else can wait.

School's Out!

School's out, school's out
Momma wants to jump and shout.
No more snow days
No more book days
(except for summer pleasure reading)

Time for flowers and swimming
Time for baseball winning
Walking and swinging
And bicycle riding

Glasses, Contacts and Warmer Weather

Benjamin is getting glasses, he has astigmatism in his left eye. Poor fella can't see well with that eye. Judith is trying out contacts this year.

We also enjoyed a warm and sunny weekend.
