My Monkey

Life with a three year old is so much fun. Life just overflows from this little fella. I have said since he was born that God gave us what we needed and He gave abundantly. I love this little guy.

Catching Up Again!

It seems if it isn’t one thing it is another to keep me away from the blog. Here I am posting today with many pictures to catch up with some of our goings on.

My husband is always coming up with good ideas and this one is no exception. The chain on this machine is broken and had to be hauled home on this sled and there it has stayed until Daddy got the idea to pull the buddy around.

He loves riding this way.

Last week we went sledding at the local university sled hill. Can I say injury waiting to happen? We stayed on the small side part of the hill to avoid injury.

Benjamin and some of the younger kids found this snow pile a fun place to play.

Today’s photos:

If you look closely at this picture you will find a moose, she is well hidden and stayed there quite a while despite our children riding snow machine and four wheelers from where I was standing. Dinner time must be important to this moose.

The sunset, the days are getting longer and warmer, this photo was taken around 8:30-8:45 pm.

The snow has begun to melt!!!!

Accepting the Legos

Benjamin has accepted his duplo legos for now. Oh, he will still attempt to get into Levi's legos but only when they are left where little three year old hands can reach. And that never happens, yeah right!

We haven't had consistent internet access for two weeks so my internet has been limited to my phone and as thrilled as I am to have that access, it just isn't the same as a big screen and keyboard and mouse. I have called and may have an answer today.

Three Year Old Days

Benjamin has gotten to the point that he needs to be kept constantly busy during school days. Otherwise he can get into much mischief and we really do not want that to happen. Over the summer Benjamin's fall "school" time activities will be gathered and organized in an effort to ensure peaceful days of learning for all of us here on the last frontier.
In the mean time, we will read books and play with clay until spaces can be cleaned and supplies organized.
This is becoming th story of my life...

All is Right in Our World

This picture shows three if our four blessings staying close to Dad, why? He has been gone for over a month for work and he arrived home on Friday afternoon. They were not going to let them out of their sight for a moment.

Lunch

Lunch is a meal that is usually simple and often the Blessings are on their own (except for the little guy, someone gets his food for him). Our temperatures have been mild lately so I have been encouraging before lunch recess time when I remember. One day last week I, put together a simple lunch while the Blessings were outside. Funny, I can think when the house is quiet. Levi is reading a baseball book and sharing facts and quizzing his sisters.
There is no place like home.

Bloggy Blog Blog

Tonight my children and I descended upon The Queen of Brussel Sprouts home, bless her heart, she keeps getting together with us and surviving! We had pizza and a movie night. Well, the kids watched a movie, we kept up with things in the kitchen and talked of life and home education. So refreshing to get together with another mom and chat, even though often we do not get to have complete conversations due those eight children. That's okay, that just gives us one more reason to get together again another day.
But that is not the point of my post. I honestly do not have much of a point for this post.
Today has been a long day, we left home at 9 a.m. for piano and then off to town for a quick stop at the store and then off to pick up contacts for Levi and get glasses adjusted, then back to North Pole for a Lego Robotics open house. We finally returned home for an hour or so of down time before pizza a movie night. I took over our Apologia elementary science books for her previewing (it is home educating Mom curriculum choosing time, aka spring time). While I was going through the books with her and giving my opinions and all I realized that one of the books came from Jenn.
The blogsphere is kind of like a world wide neighborhood where you often get to choose your cyber neighbors, even though you may live many, many miles apart or just down the road.

Snow Morning, In Which We Make Hot Cocoa

Today was supposed to be piano lesson day but our piano teacher lives out a bit and her husband and mine thought it best we postpone until later in the week. We received about nine inches of snow last night and there is more predicted in the forecast. We will see.

Being the boy that he is, Levi was chomping to get out there and shovel snow. The girls followed out for some deep snow fun.
I stayed inside to finish breakfast and make hot cocoa with my assistant.
Our favorite hot cocoa recipe is the one from the Hershey's Cocoa container. I actually followed the recipe this time, amazing.

We had leftover bacon in the freezer so I reheated that, threw some homemade freezer biscuits in the oven and scrambled some eggs. A cozy warm breakfast, with butter and honey on biscuits, yummy.
