You train your one year old for blanket playtime. And it works!
He has to stay on the blanket and play. Very rarely does he attempt to escape.
I also use blanket play time when we are at piano lessons for one hour and 45 minutes. He and I stay on the blanket and play, keeps him out of things at the piano teacher's home and keeps me from being exhausted by the time piano is over.
How old was he when you started this? I was successful at teaching mine "don't touch!", but after that... lol. How they turned out to be such nice kids, I don't know. It's definitely a God thing. :)

I love this too! Our 3 year old has moved from blanket time to structured play at a coffee table now. Same idea though. As long as I am consistent and give her something new to work on every fifteen minutes, I get about an hour from this to do the teacher-directed work that we need to accomplish. You could. He is beginning to test the boundaries more now. So, I really have to watch him and keep him on there. It is great for piano and he stays since I am sitting right there playing with him. Start out sitting on the blanket near her while you do something and she is playing. Oh, I know I say it all the time but I just think Eliana is the most beautiful girl, I smile every time you post a new picture of here. Your other blessings are equally adorable but she just has my heart!
