I slept for seven hours straight last night!!!!!!!! What a wonderful feeling, will it happen again tonight? I am not sure but I will take what comes my way.
May the Lord find us faithful.

We have been back at schooling for four weeks but we just haven't had time to do the "extras" or "fun stuff" that really aids the learning process and really brings it alive for the blessings. Mainly, we have just been getting it done for the sake of getting it done. I received a wonderful blessing when a lady a church, who had just had some things cleared from her schedule, offered to come out and do projects, home ec, or whatever to help with our homeschooling process....what can I say but Yes!! to her and give a big YAHOO!!! to myself. This wonderful woman is giving of her time to help me and she is giving so much to my blessings. They love her and have loved her their whole lives, I am thankful for her willingness to invest her time and talents and most of all her love to my family. She is that great Titus 2 and Proverbs 31 example to me and I am so thankful that the Lord has placed her in my life. (And I am not just saying this because she reads my blog)
So, since we have not "built" anything lately, that was one of the priorities... The build was a chariot but we ended up turning it into a car before the time was up. Progress you know, and creative license and all that. We enjoyed it and we still know about the time and people we have been studying. Here is the finished product, they have added some upgrades and the like since this, there is a gas cap and the steering wheel has been changed a little and they have it loaded full for their travels. They also made oversides cupcakes but we didn't get pictures of them. They were yummy!
This is becoming more and more of a daily sight around here. I have great helpers in the kitchen, here the girls are cutting up celery for dressing. We had a turkey sitting outside in our "deep" freezer that began to thaw when we warmed up. The house smelled great yesterday and we are having turkey for dinner tonight. I cut up the onions as I don't let the girls cut them up yet.
And finally a post wouldn't seem right with out this guy. First here are his little shoes he had knitted for him. I think they are so adorable and I put them on him whenever I can.
And here he is in the "happy" seat or the swing. I love that thing and so does he.
Don't you just want to kiss that face? I do!!
May the Lord find us faithful.
What a wonderful group of ladies we have at our church. Friday evening was our monthly Bible Study and I was able to attend and sit through the whole thing...we begin a new book each January and this year we will be studying Following God with All Your Heart by Elizabeth George. My husband drove me into town since the 80 degree warm up means nasty roads.
Saturday morning we were back at church for Blessing #4's baby shower brunch. What creative and talented ladies we have at our church. We are fortunate enough that our ladies give a baby shower for every baby born into our church family whether it be the first or the fourth. Every baby is a blessing to be celebrated. We are thankful because we were starting over from scratch.
Personally, I have never been a fan of diaper cakes until I saw this one. It was absolutely so cute, I could not believe it.
Don't you agree?
A view of the tables
Here is a closer view which includes my girls, check out those gumdrop topiaries.

This is the only picture of the guest of honor on my camera.
While Blessings #2, 3, and 4 and I were at the Baby Shower, Blessing #1 and Daddy were out making a big purchase. Blessing #1 spent his Christmas money on this:
We were also able to borrow this wonderful swing, it is fantastic.
Things are getting a little more "normal" around here. Today being a federal holiday helped a little as Dad and the older blessings spent most of the day outside working in the yard or snowmachining. I was able to do a little straightening up and menu planning and prepping while baby slept. Yahoo!! I really enjoy normal.
May the Lord find us faithful.
It seems that posts with pictures (or any post at all these days) are feast or famine with me. Please be patient as I get into a new groove. So, what does one do when it is cold for three weeks...
The blessings get a little crafty.
Personally, I stay inside as much as possible but by Sunday I was ready for Church. I hadn't been in 4-5 weeks...I missed church. I took this picture when we pulled into the church parking lot Sunday morning.
This one was taken on the way to church. The moon was full and the ice fog was doing it's thing, but it wasn't too horrible since there was a little twilight to brighten things up a bit.
This picture is horrible quality but this is a moose munching a tree right across the street from our church on Sunday night, standing there right on the sidewalk in a neighborhood in town. Silly moose.
Monday was warmer but not too warm, somewhere around zero to 5 above. We schooled and went grocery shopping.
Wednesday was very warm and the blessings played outside for a long while. Gather as much sunlight as possible and breathe the fresh air deeply.
Here is a picture of the sky at around 3:30pm on Tuesday. I thought it was lovely.
One blessing was sledding down the drive way and the other two were playing football.
Close up of football players (wearing Dad's old middle and high school jerseys)
The temperature was just about 32 degrees above zero. Quite a difference from -36 degrees on Sunday!!
Lastly, Wednesday evening Blessing #4 and I were the last ones up and I thought he looked so cute laying on the Boppy before his final diaper change before heading off to bed (where he slept a whopping 5 1/2 hours!!! Yahoo!!! and thank you buddy).
He was a asleep when I sat him down. So precious. Daddy weighed him tonight and by Dad's calculations, he weighs 10 lbs and 8 ounces.
May the Lord find us faithful.
through the cold snap that is. After a couple of weeks of -39 to -45 degree weather we have finally come through to the other side. Yesterday it actually snowed a bit, always love to see a fresh snow, and I actually drove for the first time in I can't remember how long. I drove to town to meet my husband for a little grocery shopping. I have a "funny" story about that...I thought I would leave home a little earlier and get one store out of the way so we could get home earlier... that was hilarious, between baby and school and me some where in the middle of all of that finding time to get myself completely ready we ended up leaving home just in time to meet at the first stop on our list. Oh, how baby changes things.
Baby is doing great, sleeping a little longer and I can tell the difference. Speaking of sleep, I need to go catch a few more zzz's before time slips away...bye for now.
May the Lord find us faithful.
Whoopie, yahoo, yipee dippee doo....why all the hoopla, click on my weather sticker at the top of the page and read the temperatures forcasted for next Wednesday! The end is in sight and even more liveable temps are predicted by Saturday and Sunday! I know it could change but don't tell me that....Hoping for warmer weather.
May the Lord find us faithful.
I was asked what "light freezing fog" is...we call it ice fog here locally, the other term must be a weather term. Ice fog is a fog that lays low to the ground when the temperatures drop as low as they have been here since December 27th. It is horrible to drive in ice fog as you can't see what is in front of you until you get right up on it and then you mainly see tail lights real close pop up all the sudden. We have pretty much been -30 degrees to -45 degrees since 12/27. There has been forcasts that say we may warm up a little over the weekend, but that does not seem to be happening yet....time will tell. When we get these cold spells it makes me real thankful that I am a homeschool mom, I would not want to have to drive in this every dark and foggy morning.
Baby update: Blessing #4 is doing well. He slept longer last night than he has any other night. Happy Mom I am today.
I will work on pictures this weekend. I have been a single mom this week but my most wonderful husband is back and I will post pictures when I get them loaded.
May the Lord find us faithful.
