We pulled over Thursday night at a pipeline viewing area to sleep. Yep, that the Trans-Alaska Pipeline right there.
If you look real close in the middle of this picture there is a red salmon. We stopped at the salmon viewing area for a rest stop and we only saw one lone salmon swimming up stream to spawn.
A view down river
We try to stop and visit with friends along the way. We stopped to visit with some friends and eat lunch in their driveway, the husband and one son and a friend were gone to town but we met up with them along the way at this pull out. The red truck and camper is ours.
The view from the pull out.
Here at last. We headed into town to walk the harbor since it was so nice and sunny.
My husband loves Valdez.
This picture was taken two years ago in Valdez….
I wanted to try to get the same one but someone was not willing to play along.
Judith bundled up on the way to Allison Point where we were camping. Her Momma would not roll up her window.
Eagles and sea gulls feasting.
Looking….
Just a pic of the mountains.
And they fish….everyone breathe a collective sigh of relief.
Benjamin throws rocks.
Judith gets a fish on.
See that thing sticking up out of the water at the tip of my husband’s rod? It is a sea otter. They played with me all evening, when I was casting they would come up out of the water and when I had the camera in my hand they would only stick their heads out a little bit. They were feasting on salmon for sure though.
Benjamin’s rod and reel… He does not have a hook on his line, he has a cast practice thing, that is good enough when you are two.
Levi’s fish.
