A dear friend and fellow home school Mom put together a curriculum swap. Monday morning began with a prayer brunch. Then the sorting, organizing and reorganizing curriculum and books as our fellow moms brought in and took out used curriculum began. We had young ladies there to keep a watchful eye on younger children as Moms perused tables and visited with other Moms. Who doesn't love two days visiting with friends? The leftover items were divided up among a used bookstore, the literacy council and the transfer site reuse area, which I learned today I had to call the blessing place instead of the dump. Friends, gotta love them.
One of the Moms figured that about fifty families came through the doors over the two days. We met old friends and met a few new faces. The facebook group gained a few new additions so more moms have found a place to learn about local home school news. Yay!
What a great idea and being with friends is always good. Btw, I see you are warmer there today and we are here. It's only been 49/50° for a high today.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is unbelievable. I wish we wouldn't have had those cold nights last week so the garden could have had one more week. Oh well. We will try again next spring.
DeleteHaha, I just had to add... I just told my husband that it's 64° there now and he said, "Above zero???". hahaha
